Today, Maruti Suzuki announced that it has launched vehicles with 6 airbags as standard in all of its most selling entry-level cars, such as the Alto K10, WagonR, Celerio, and Eeco. The upgrade is in line with the brand’s continued commitment to improving passenger safety and keeping pace with international safety standards around the globe.
These models will include both front airbags, new side airbags, and curtain airbags for passengers to ensure complete safety for the driver and passengers in the front seat in case of a collision. This decision puts these affordable cars in the same league as the more premium Maruti Suzuki cars, such as the Swift, the Dzire, and the Brezza, which are all equipped with six airbags as standard.
Apart from airbags, the vehicles will be offered with a comprehensive package of essential safety features, in the form of Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Hold Control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, and three-point seat belts for all passengers. These are designed to provide more peace of mind and protection, especially as India’s network of roads grows and more high-speed travel is expected.
It is good that the features have been made standard across trims without any hike in costs, and that shows that Maruti Suzuki is determined to bring in advanced safety technology for more customers. With the introduction of as many as six airbags in some of the country’s most popular and affordable cars, Maruti Suzuki introduces a new benchmark for safety levels in the Indian automotive market. He makes it accessible for more and more families to drive in a confident, protected style.
